Services Held For Mrs. Harm Janssen In Ackley Wed. p.m.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Fritz Funeral Home in Ackley for Mrs. Harm Janssen, who passed away Sunday at an Eldora Nursing Home where she had been a patient for the past several years. The Rev. Norman Flink officiated at the services. Burial was in the West Friesland Presbyterian Cemetery, east of Ackley.

Mrs. Janssen, the former Christina Arends, daughter of Occo and Jana Arends, was born November 20, 1881 near Breda in Carroll County, Iowa. On February 9, 1904, she and Harm Janssen were married at Staceyville. They became the parents of two children, Nancy, (Mrs. Bert Riebkes) of Wellsburg and Jennie, (Mrs. I. C. Harken) of Aplington.

Mrs. Janssen is survived by her husband; her two daughters; five grandchildren, Mrs. Leonard Gelder, Mrs. Harry Duhn, Mrs. Marvin Janssen and Judy Riebkes of Wellsburg, and Eugene Harken of Aplington, six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Fredericka Dwyer of Culver City, California, Mrs. Annie Betels of Buffalo Center and Mrs. Bernice VanHeiden of Ackley; one brother, Fred Schultz of Sargeant, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
