Lester Miller, age 90 of Ackley, died on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Grand JiVante in Ackley. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the West Friesland Presbyterian Church in Ackley with inurnment at a later date. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Friday at the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley.

Lester Syd Miller was born on May 8, 1925 in Ackley, Iowa the son of Seede and Lena (Alphs) Miller. He graduated from the Ackley High School in 1945 and then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1945-46. On August 5, 1951 Lester was united in marriage to Anna Mae Luppen. He was a mechanic with Sailer Ford, retiring in 2000. Lester was a member of the West Friesland Presbyterian Church at Ackley and the Elliott-Keninger Post #201 of Ackley.

Lester is survived by his wife, Anna Mae; children, Linda (Antwone) Lowery of Des Moines, David (Deb) Miller of Newton, Diane Mott of Des Moines, Gayle (Brian) Hale of Pine Island, MN; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Alfred Miller of Mason City a sister-in-law, Arlene Miller of Oxford; and a sister-in-law, Sandy (Miller) Holdiman of Iowa City; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Rita Miller; brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Jo Miller; brothers, Floyd Miller and Art Miller; two infant brothers; one infant sister; sister-in-law, Jo (Alfred) Miller; and one nephew, Terry Miller.
