Gertrude Fredrika Huesman, age 97, of Ackley, died on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Maple Manor Care Center in Aplington. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, March 26th at the West
Friesland Presbyterian Church, Ackley with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 P.M. Wednesday at the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley.

Gertrude was born on July 15, 1911 in Manslagt, Germany, the daughter of John and Gertie (Uelman) Janssen. She was united in marriage to Klaas (Sam) Huesman on January 6, 1932 in Ackley.

Gertrude was a member of the West Friesland Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed social activities at the nursing home, being with friends, children, and grandchildren.

Gertrude is survived by her son, Meint and his wife, Linda of Key Largo, FL; a daughter, Georgine Wagoner and her husband, Wayne of Parkersburg; 5 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Arnold Janssen and his wife, Norma of Cedar Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and five siblings.
