Services Last Monday For Earl L. Mikkelsen

Funeral services were held last Monday afternoon, March 16, 1970, at 1:30 p.m. at the Fredsville Lutheran Church for Earl L. Mikkelsen, 59. Mr. Mikkelsen passed away on Thursday morning, March 12th, at the Allen Memorial hospital, Waterloo. He had been a patient at the hospital for five previous days with the exception of 10 hours at home during the weekend.

Pastor Joseph Sibert officiated at the services. Burial was in the Fredsville cemetery. Dike Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Earl Mikkelsen was born January 22, 1911, in Grundy County near Fredsville, the son of Louis and Laura Larsen Mikkelsen. He married Helga Jensen on June 28, 1939 in Cedar Falls. They farmed in the Fredsville area all their married life until moving to Dike on Dec. 7, 1968.

Survivors include his widow, Helga; two sons, Clark of Cedar Falls and Dennis at home; one daughter, LeAnn, also at home; three brothers, Arnold of rural Cedar Falls, Glen of Turlock, California, and Emmet of Ridgecrest, California; one granddaughter, Lisa and his mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jensen of Cedar Falls. He was preceded in death by both his parents.

Earl Mikkelsen was a member of the Fredsville Lutheran Church; Dike Honor Lodge No. 646; and the Dike Danish Brotherhood Lodge.
