Ella Lynch Services Held

Ella M. Wiener Lynch passed away Wednesday, September 9, at the Long Term Care Unit of Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center having attained the age of 90 years, 1 month, and 4 days.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 12, at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Lyle Blaede officiating.

Pallbearers were Mark Lynch, Gary L. Meyer, David McCauley, Jerry Stahl, Paul Harberts, and Robert Slinker.

Burial was at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center.

Ella was born August 5, 1902, in Batchtown, Illinois the daughter of Ernest and Anna (Booheister) Wiener. Mrs. Lynch attended country schools in Illinois. She came to Iowa in 1919 to help her sister as a hired girl.

Ella was united in marriage to Harry V. Lynch on November 28, 1922 in Grundy Center. Ella and Harry farmed all of their married life in the Beaman area. Harry passed away January 21, 1972, and Ella moved to Conrad. She entered Long Term Care in Grundy Center in 1991. Ella enjoyed quilting and helping others.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry; her parents; two brothers, William and Paul Wiener; two sisters, Elizabeth Slinker and Mae Klinefelter; and one granddaughter, Donna Rae Lynch.

Survivors include three sons, Ray and wife Lois of Grundy Center, H. Lee and wife Betty of Marshalltown, and Floyd and wife Nathalie of Albion; two daughters, Marian McCubbin of Beaman, and Marjorie and husband Donald L. Stahl of Grundy Center; three sisters, Ethel Smith of Meredosia, IL, Anna Foiles of Jerseyville, IL, and Dorothy Vetter of Brighton, IL; one brother, Ernest Wiener, Jr., also of Brighton, IL; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of the arrangements.
