Lavera Ramundt Services Held

Mrs. Lavera C. Ramundt, 91 of Reinbeck, passed away at 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21 at the Parkview Manor Care Center in Reinbeck where she had been residing since March 1990, with a heart condition.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Church of Christ in Reinbeck with Rev. John Christy, affiliate pastor officiating. Interment was in the Reinbeck Cemetery.

Born January 27, 1901, near Lincoln, she was the daughter of Hans and Mary Barfels Boege. She received her education in the rural schools in Tama county and grew to womanhood in the area of her birth.

On September 1, 1920, at Reinbeck, she was united in marriage to Henry A. Ramundt of Reinbeck. The couple farmed near Reinbeck and in 1955 moved into Reinbeck where they since resided. Mr. Ramundt died August 16, 1973.

Mrs. Ramundt was a member of the United Church of Christ, and the Ladies Aid of the United Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death were her husband; a grandson, Mark; and a brother, Alvin Boege.

Surviving are three sons, Harlyn H. Ramundt of Newport, Oregon, Leon C. Ramundt of Eldora, and Virtus B. Ramundt of Beaman; seven grandchildren, Craig Ramundt of Minneapolis, Dana Ramundt of Clive, Sandy Ramundt of Santa Barbara, CA, Curtis Ramundt of Grundy Center, Dean Ramundt of San Jose, CA, Randall Ramundt of Des Moines, and Scott Ramundt of San Jose, CA; eight great-grandchildren, two step-granddaughters, and a great step grandson; eight brothers and sisters, Mrs. Wilma Claussen, Harvey, Ray and Ralph Boege, all of Reinbeck, Verna Ladehoff of Gladbrook, Alta Sindt of Atlantic, Louisa Hansen of Toledo, and Reva Ladehoff of Conrad; several nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.

The French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck was in charge of the arrangements.
