Maurell Lynn Services Held

Maurell F. Lynn was born March 25, 1915 in Grundy County the son of J. R. "Dick" and Grace Lynn. He passed away Thursday, April 16 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo having attained the age of 77 years and 22 days.

Maurell grew up and was educated in Grundy county. He was engaged in farming in Grundy County and was also an independent paint contractor for many years. He retired in 1967. He was united in marriage to Margaret Smoldt on June 26, 1937 in Reinbeck.

Maurell was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center.

Preceding him in death were his wife Margaret in 1987; one infant son; his parents; and one sister, Marcella Lynn.

Survivors include one son, Larry of Grundy Center, one grandson, Lonnie Lynn of Austin, TX; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn of San Diego, CA.

Funeral services were held on Monday, April 20 at First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. David and Laura Stellmon officiating. Pallbearers were Lonnie Lynn, Steve Thomassen, Don Rouse, Paul Rouse, Ian Frerichs, and Allen Frerichs. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center.

Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of the arrangements.
