Jeanette Jensen Services Held

Jeanette C. Jensen was born December 20, 1918 in Dike the daughter of Henry and Anna (Henningsen) Struntze. She passed away Saturday, April 4 at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo having attained the age of 73 years, 3 months, and 14 days.

Jeanette grew up and was educated in Dike, graduating from Dike High School in 1936. She then obtained her diploma from AIB in Des Moines. She was united in marriage to Holger P. Jensen on February 17, 1942 at Fredsville Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Cedar Falls. Four children were born to this union: Kenneth, Lane, Kathleen, and Michael.

Jeanette was a lifetime member of Fredsville Evangelical Lutheran church in rural Cedar Falls. She was an active member, serving in many capacities over the years. She was also a member of the Danish Sisterhood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; and by one sister, Bernyce Struntze.

Survivors include her husband, Holger; three sons, Kenneth of Greenwood, Indiana, Lane of Dike, and Michael of Clarksville; one daughter, Kathleen Cortright of Waterloo; and 5 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 7 at Fredsville Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Cedar Falls at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Don Benson officiating. Pallbearers were Harlan Nielsen, Jim Loger, Chuck Christensen, Paul Reinicke, Ralph Thuesen, and Delmar Danielsen. Burial was in the church cemetery.

The Dike Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
