Roger E. Mock Services Held On Wednesday

Roger E. Mock, 52, of Grundy Center, passed away suddenly on Sunday afternoon, April 5, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, April 8, at the First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center at 10 a.m., with Rev. Gerald M. Bock officiating.

Pall bearers were Roger Muller, Ronn Ross, Bill Marten, Al Hansen, Bill Itzen and Bob Ayers.

Interment was at Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center.

Roger Ellsworth Mock was born February 3, 1940, in LeRoy Township, Bremer County, the son of Frank and Gertrude (Hagen) Mock.

Roger attended school in Tripoli, and later moved to Grundy Center, where he graduated from high school in 1958.

Roger was united in marriage to Bonnie Kell at the Little Brown Church in Nashua on May 28, 1960. They are the parents of two daughters, Debra Mock Valdez, of New York City, NY, and Kathy Mock, of Grundy Center.

Roger was employed by the city of Grundy Center since 1963. He was a member of the IOOF Lodge and the Grundy County Cowboys.

Roger was preceded in death by his step-father, John Moore, in 1991.

He is survived by his wife and daughters; his mother, Gertrude Moore, of Grundy Center; and one brother, Jerry Mock, of Rogers, Arkansas.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of the arrangements.
