Fred Timmer Services Held

Fred Timmer was born on June 25, 1914 the son of Fred and Pauline Tobin Timmer in Butler county. He passed away on Sunday, March 15 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home of natural causes.

On January 18, 1938, Fred was united in marriage to Valborg Christiansen in Nashua. They farmed in the Dike area.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Harry, and Ralph; and five sisters, Millie McQuaid, Trena Timmer, Henriette Timmer, Trena Duisman and Lucille Cordova.

Survivors include his wife, Valborg of Dike; a daughter, Carolynn Messer of Scottsdale, AZ; two grandchildren; a brother, John of Marshalltown; and two sisters, Bertha Aswegan of Parkersburg, and Fannie Johnson of Stanhope.

Funeral services were held on March 18 at the Fredsville Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
