Anna Solma Services Held
Anna Solma was born July 2, 1907, in Grundy County, the daughter of Adam and Bertha (Miller) Zapf. She passed away Wednesday, February 5, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.
Anna grew up and was educated in Grundy County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Grace Zapf.
Survivors include one daughter, Bernice Hohenberger and son-in-law Roy of Dike; two grandsons, Craig Hohenberger of Cedar Falls, and Curtis Hohenberger of Waterloo; one granddaughter, Cathy Hohenberger of Waterloo; 5 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Grundy Center with Pastor Gary W. Candlish officiating. Pallbearers were Craig Hohenberger, Curtis Hohenberger, Pierre Marion, LuVerne Meester, Joseph Bennett, and Edward Hayes. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center.
The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, was in charge of the arrangements.
