Nellie Miller Services Held

Nellie Miller was born March 21, 1893 near Hudson the daughter of Gustave and Laura (Walters) Bauer. She married Samuel Miller January 9, 1929 in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1987. Nellie died Monday, February 3, at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center, Cedar Falls, at the age of 98 years.

She is survived by two sons, Wesley and Marvin Miller, both of Dike; four grandchildren, Gary Miller, Betty Miller, David Miller and Linda Ohrt; one great-grandchild, Ryan Ohrt; and one brother, Ervie B. Bauer, Cedar Falls.

Nellie was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers, Walter, Emil, Floyd, and Edward Bauer; and four sisters, Myrtle Noltensmeier, Jennie Noltensmeier, Martha Hoffmeister, and Helen Bauer.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Hudson, with Rev. T. Edwards Breed officiating. Casket bearers were Donald Noltensmeier, Leonard Bauer, Gerald Bauer, Gary Miller, David Miller, and Brad Ohrt. Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery, Dike.

Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
