Tony Hinders' Services Held
Tony Leroy Hinders, 77, of Grundy Center, died at his home Sunday morning, February 9, of natural causes.
Born March 4, 1914, near Grundy Center, he was the son of Tony and Minnie Huisman Hinders. He received his education in the schools of rural Grundy County and grew to manhood in the area of his birth.
He was united in marriage to Miss Irene M. Sonkens of Gladbrook on December 9, 1935, at Grundy Center. The couple farmed in the Grundy Center area until Mr. Hinders moved into town and was employed as a plumber. He then took employment with the Conservation Commission for 15 years after retiring from plumbing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert; and one great-grandson.
Surviving are his wife, Irene; a son, Roger L. Hinders of Belmond; a daughter, Bonnie J. (Mrs. Lee) Buseman of Grundy Center; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Verda Cosman of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Gladys Taft of Grundy Center.
Funeral services were held at the French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck on Wednesday, February 12 at 2 p.m. with Rev. D. Ward Young officiating. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck was in charge of the arrangements.
