Services Held For Roy A. Johnson

Roy A. Johnson of Ft. Myers, Fla., formerly of Cedar Falls and Moline, Ill., passed away Jan. 1, 1992, at Lee Health Park Med. Center of complications of a stroke.

He was born April 27, 1914, in Dike, son of Dagmar Slifsgaard and Peter Johnson. He married Ardell Ostergaard on June 1, 1941, in Cedar Falls. Before retirement he worked for Herman Nielsen Co. of Moline, Ill.

Survivors are son Jerold Johnson of Ft. Myers, Fla.; 2 grandchildren; companion Verna Cameron; one brother, Vernon Johnson of Cedar Falls; four sisters, Hildred Wilson of Pompano Beach, Fla., Hazel Haan, Ruth Call of Cedar Falls and Helen Kluesner of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ardell, and three brothers, Roger, Melvin and Arnold, all of Cedar Falls.

Memorial services were held Monday, Jan. 6, on Sanibel Island, Fla. Graveside services will be held in Fredsville Lutheran Church, Friday, at 2:00 p.m.

Harvey Engelhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
