Services Held For Esther E. Andersen
Esther E. Andersen, 88, of Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, formerly of Dike, died Friday, December 27th, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Fredsville, September 29, 1903. Her parents were Erik J. Thuesen and Christine Jorgensen Thuesen. Esther attended the Fredsville grade school, Danebod Folk School in Tyler, Minnesota, and a winter session at Grand View College in Des Moines, Iowa. She was married to Harold A. Andersen on February 24, 1932, at Fredsville Lutheran Church. Esther and Harold farmed in the Cedar Falls and Fredsville area until 1963 and lived their retirement years in Dike. She was a lifelong member of Fredsville Lutheran Church and very active in the church and community affairs.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Sandra of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Arlan and Carol of rural Cedar Falls; Edwin and Janice of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and one daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and William Gift of Des Moines; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by five infant siblings, five brothers, Jens, George, Theodore, Harry and Albert all of the Cedar Falls area, and two sisters, Dora Bonnicksen of Ringsted, Iowa, and Agnes Thuesen of Cedar Falls.
Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 30th, at Fredsville Lutheran Church with Rev. Don Benson, officiating. Organist was Joann Juhl, soloist was LaVonne Johnson. Casket bearers were Eric Andersen, Brent Andersen, David Gift, Alan Gift, Gary Gift, and Glenn Bonnicksen. Flower committee was Paul and Barbara Thuesen and Neal and Jeanne Thuesen.
Burial in the Fredsville Cemetery.
