Henry Wolters Services Held

Henry Wolters of the Prairie Village, Apartment 50, Parkersburg, was born the son of John and Anna Dahlmann Wolters on June 9, 1904 in Butler County near Aplington. He attended rural school in Butler and Grundy Counties.

In 1927, Henry was united in marriage to Fannie Ridder. They farmed south of Aplington. Fannie died February 28, 1931.

In 1934, Henry married Jacobena Meester. They farmed near Fern, until moving to Grundy Center in 1953. Jacobena died in 1988, and Henry moved to his present apartment in November 1989. He then joined the Christian Reformed Church in Parkersburg.

At 8:05 p.m. Thursday, December 19, Henry died at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. He reached the age of 87 years, 6 months, and 10 days.

He was preceded in death by his two wives, Fannie and Jacobena; 2 daughters, Ruth in 1941 and Jeanette in 1954; an infant son John in 1948; his parents; and 1 infant brother.

Henry is survived by his 7 daughters and their husbands, Anna (Mrs. Vern) Pagel, Cedar Falls, Jennie (Mrs. Alvin) Claassen, Waterloo, Gertrude (Mrs. Paul) Wessels, Allison, Johanna Rottink, Waterloo, Elaine Viet, Iowa Falls, Martha (Mrs. Leland) Dellinger, Valentine, Nebraska, and Delores (Mrs. Lloyd) Reeder, Atlantic; 26 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 23 in the Christian Reformed Church in Parkersburg with Rev. Tim Koster and Rev. Calvin Vanderwerf officiating. Casketbearers were Randall Claassen, Marvin Pagel, Larry Pagel, John Wessels, Dennis Rottink, and David Viet. Interment followed in Stout Cemetery, Stout.

Schwartz Funeral Home in Parkersburg was in charge of the arrangements.
