Rites Held For Bessie M. Loverin

Bessie M. Loverin, 88, of Conrad, passed away on Friday, June 14, at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad where she had been a resident since January 1988.

Services were held at the United Methodist Church in Conrad, on Monday, June 17, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. David Crow officiating.

Casket bearers were Les Hoppenworth, Bill Hartwig, Charles Friend, Herschel Carnes, Dale Manning and Les Gummert.

Burial was in the Conrad Cemetery in Conrad.

Bessie, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Barbara Ellen Bockes Freed, was born on July 31, 1902. She attended Melrose Township Country Schools in the Ivester Community.

On February 8, 1920, she was united in marriage to Leonard Richard Loverin. The couple lived in Conrad where they were members of the United Methodist Church. Bessie was a Homemaker, a cook at the Conrad High School for several years, and was a babysitter for several families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Richard Dale Loverin; two sisters, and five brothers.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jon (Barbara) Tranbarger of Conrad, and Dora Stambaugh of Conrad; six great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Johnston Funeral Home of Conrad was in charge of arrangements.
