Rites Held For William Smith

William H. Smith, 76, formerly of Conrad, passed away Thursday, May 30, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center.

Services were held at Conrad Methodist Church on Monday, June 3, at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. David Crow officiating.

Casket bearers were Kingford Albright, Bill Hartwig, Ross Hartwig, Tim Friday, Verne Reese, and Floyd Sisson.

Interment was in the Conrad Cemetery in Conrad. Military rites were conducted by the Conrad American Legion Post #681.

William, the son of Guy A. and Freda Bick Smith, was born in Sioux City, on February 6, 1915. William graduated from Conrad High School in 1936. He served in the Army in the 51st FA BN. He was self-employed as a carpenter until his retirement.

William was a member of the Conrad Methodist Church, and the Conrad American Legion #681.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Arnold, who passed away in 1985.

William is survived by several cousins.
