Rites For Milda Mogensen Held

Milda E. Mogensen, 70, of Grundy Center passed away on Friday, May 17 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center.

Services were held Monday, May 20, at 10:30 a.m., in the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center, with Pastor Paul C. Nelson officiating.

Pallbearers were Mark A. Tiller, Darle C. Jones, Scott A. Dalton, Ronald E. Tiller, Donald E. Street Jr., and John C. Mogensen Jr.

Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center.

Milda, the daughter of John and Jennie Heck Schueler, was born in Swea City, IA on March 19, 1921. She attended schools in Swea City in Kossuth County.

She was united in marriage to Clarence Mogensen on August 23, 1938 in Winterset. The couple moved to Grundy Center in 1968.

Milda was a member of the American Lutheran church in Grundy Center. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Milda is survived by her husband Clarence; one son, John and his wife Mary of Westernville, NY; three daughters, Florene Tiller and her husband Ron of Hazen, AR, Carol Street and her husband of Bradford, AR, and Patricia Mogensen of Grundy Center; three sisters, Emma Behrends of Buffalo Center, Estella Willard of Waterloo and Frances Hammond of Swea City; two brothers, George Schueler of Armstrong, and John Schueler of Mason City; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of arrangements.
