Services Held For John Bruns

John Dirk Bruns, 88, of Alden, passed away Thursday, February 28, in the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa falls, of natural causes.

Services were held at the Christian Reformed Church in Iowa Falls, with burial in the Stout Reformed Church Cemetery, of Stout.

John worked for Iowa Lime Stone for 25 years, retiring in 1967.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Katie, who passed away in 1930; an infant son, Gary; four brothers, three sisters, and two grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Grace; three daughters, Kathryn Boelman of Grundy Center, Janice Faber of Marshalltown, and Elaine Sunken of Iowa Falls; two sons, John (Jack) of Green Mountain, and Richard (Butch) of Ankeny; one sister, Bertha Nieman, of Clear Lake, SD; 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established.

Linn's Funeral Home in Iowa Falls was in charge of arrangements.
