Services Held For Doris Heine

Mrs. Doris M. Heine, 90, of Clear Lake, formerly of Grundy Center, passed away Friday, February 22, at Mercy Hospital in Mason City.

Services were held on Monday, February 25, at 10 a.m., at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel in Clear Lake. Grave side services were held Monday, February 25, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center, with Rev. David, and Rev. Laura Stellmon officiating.

Doris was born on November 29, 1900, in Blooming Prairie, MN, the daughter of Henry and Mary Jefferson Nelson. She graduated from Owatonna High School in Owatonna, MN.

In September of 1922, she was united in marriage to Earl Heine. They moved to Grundy Center in 1936, where Earl owned and operated an International Harvester Implement business on Main Street.

Doris was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center, and was very active in the church's women's groups. She was also a past matron of the Eastern Star in Grundy Center. Doris enjoyed playing bridge. She remained in Grundy Center after her husband passed away in 1977, moving to Clear lake in 1986.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; one son, Jon, and nine brothers and sisters.

Doris is survived by one son, James and his wife Virley, of Clear Lake; one sister, Lucille Moehman, of Austin, MN; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials in her name.

The Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel in Clear Lake was in charge of arrangements.
