Rites Held For Laura Rindels

Laura E. Rindels, 81, of Dike, passed away at the Long Term Care Unit of the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, in Grundy Center.

Services were held Monday, February 18, at the Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church, in rural Grundy Center, at 1:30 p.m., with Pastor Douglas H. Bratt officiating.

Casket bearers were Lee Arends, Glen Arends, Duane Rindels, Darius Rindels, Vernon Rindels, and Larry McCulley.

Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery in Dike.

Laura, the daughter of Christopher and Josie Hutting Doescher, was born on March 7, 1909, in Grundy County. She attended Country School in Grundy County and graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1926.

She was united in marriage to Herman J. Rindels on December 2, 1926, in Hampton, Iowa. Laura and Herman farmed until their retirement in Grundy County. After retiring from farming they moved to the City of Dike in 1974.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Herman; one daughter Carol Jean, and one sister Berniece McCulley.

Survivors include one son, Eldon and his wife Ruth, of Dike; one sister Doreen Huffman, of Mountain Home, AR; two grandchildren, Dennis Rindels, and his wife Sally, and Mrs. Barry (Diane) Block, and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Dike Funeral Chapel, in Dike was in charge of arrangements.
