Virgil Klipping Dies At Sartori

Services were held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls last Thursday at 1:30 p.m. for Virgil Klipping, 72, who died December 23 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center.

He was born November 6, 1918, in Iowa City, the son of Louis and Almeda Barklow Klipping. The Klipping family lived in Grundy Center for several years where Virgil's father was a painter. Virgil graduated from the Grundy Center High School in 1937.

Virgil served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Leona Wagner on December 3, 1942, in Pensacola, FL. She died May 17, 1989.

Survivors include a son James of rural Dike and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
