Anna Rieken Services Held
Anna Rieken, 81, of the Maple Manor Nursing Home in Aplington, passed away on Wednesday, November 29.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 1, at the Faith Presbyterian Church, Ackley, with Rev. Tim Diehl officiating.
Darwin Engelkes sang "He Touched Me," and Bernice Bangasser and Wanda Fritz sang "One Day At A Time." The organist was Darlene Heetland.
Casket bearers were Irvin Flessner, Casper Jutting, Randall Rieken, Ben Harms, Don Martin and Ryan Rieken.
Interment was in the East Friesland Cemetery, Ackley.
Anna Rieken, the daughter of Henry and Lizzie Jutting Flessner, was born in Hardin county on January 8, 1908. She attended rural school near Cleves.
Anna was united in marriage to Raymond Rieken on November 26, 1936, at the East Friesland Presbyterian parsonage. They lived and worked on the family farm near Cleves, then moved to Ackley in 1968.
Anna was a homemaker, and was a member of the Faith Presbyterian Church and a member of WIC.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979; her parents; a sister Kate Snittjer; and one grandchild.
Anna is survived by two sons, Robert of Ackley, and Ronald, of Wellsburg; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The Brandt-Fritz Funeral Home in Ackley was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
