Services Held For Tena Raske

Mrs. Tena Raske, 83, of Grundy Center, passed away on Thursday, August 17, at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center.

Funeral services were held at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, rural Holland, on Monday, August 21, at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Larry C. Hoop officiated.

Dwayne and Elaine Sents sang "Safe In The Arms Of Jesus," and "Where The Roses Never Fade." The accompanist was Mrs. Larry Stahl, who also played selected numbers for the prelude and postlude.

Casket bearers were Wendell Muller, Ray Wilson, Rick Mast, Donald Miller, Larry Barnes and Roger Muller.

Ushers were Herman Akkerman and John Seehusen. Mrs. Effie Hook and Mrs. Annette Flater were in charge of the floral arrangements.

Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center.

Tena Raske was born August 9, 1906, in Colfax township, Grundy county. She was the daughter of Sievert and Reka Eckhoff Muller. Tena grew up in Colfax township and attended country school.

On January 18, 1934, she was united in marriage to John R. Raske at the Colfax Center Church parsonage by Rev. Drake. After their marriage, they farmed in the Holland and Grundy Center area until they retired and made their home in Grundy Center.

Tena was a longtime member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, who passed away in January of 1983; her parents; three brothers, Ben, Eilert and Melvin; and three sisters, Ella, Violet and Jennie.

Tena is survived by three brothers, Hans Muller, Wievert Muller and Raymond Muller, all of Grundy Center; three sisters, Anna Wilson, Kate Syhlman and Mrs. Loyd (Frieda) Mast, all of Grundy Center; and by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
