Rites Held For David Zingg, Jr.

David Zingg, Jr., 74, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, June 21, at the V.A. Hospital and Medical Center at Knoxville.

Graveside committal services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 24, at the Holland Cemetery, Holland, with Rev. Glenn Dieken officiating.

David Zingg, Jr., was born January 20, 1915, at St. Clair. He was the son of Hilbrandina Beenken Zingg and David Zingg, Sr. He grew up in Grundy county on a farm near Grundy Center.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, from June 24, 1941, to August 9, 1943. He was a resident of the V.A. facility in Knoxville for most of his life after he got out of the service.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Luitjen.

He is survived by one nephew, Henry Zingg, rural Grundy Center, and by several cousins.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
