Services Held For Laura Miller

Laura Miller, 80, passed away January 29, at the Ackley Presbyterian Home in Ackley.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 1, at the Faith Presbyterian Church in Ackley, with Rev. Tim Diehl officiating.

Mrs. Wayne Blythe was the organist and Mrs. John E. Muller was the soloist.

Casket bearers were Roger Muller, Wendall Muller, Jim Syhlman, Bill Temple, Alvin Miller, and Ray Wilson.

Ushers were Merlin Bangasser and Thomas Sherfield.

Interment was held in the East Friesland Cemetery, Ackley.

Laura Miller was born December 31, 1908, in Hardin county, the daughter of Peter and Stineje Smitt.

On November 23, 1932, she was united in marriage to Ben S. Miller at the Colfax Presbyterian Church, rural Holland. Their life was spent in Hardin and Grundy counties.

Laura was affiliated with the East Friesland Church and the Faith Presbyterian Church during her lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ben, who died in 1966, and a grandchild.

Laura is survived by four sons, Donald, of Ackley, Bernard, and Eldon, both of Iowa Falls, and Melvin, of Marshalltown; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

The Brandt-Fritz Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
