Services For Joe Boelman Held Friday

Joe Boelman, 80, of Ackley, passed away on Friday, November 30, 1990 at his home.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 1990 at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, northwest of Wellsburg, with Pastor Ronald Fisher officiating. Richard Schafer was soloist accompanied by Marilyn Ubben, organist. Pallbearers were Marlyn DeBoer, Lynn Boelman, Leo DeVries, Henry Feikes, David Abbas and Robert Baehr. Ushers were LeRoy Kruse and Allen Spieker. The interment service was held in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Joe Boelman, son of Casper and Fannie (Boelman) Boelman was born in German township, Grundy county, Iowa on November 27, 1910.

He received his education at German township school in Grundy county. His occupation was farming. For 21 years he was employed at the Lumber Yard in Ackley. His hobby was woodworking and latch hook.

On January 1, 1940, he was united in marriage to Freda Ann Meyer at St. Peter's United Church of Christ.

He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ.

Surviving is one daughter, JoAnn Wolf of St. Paul, MN and one grandson, Michael David Wolf of Las Vegas, NV. Others who mourn his loss are two brothers, Bert Boelman and Calvin Boelman, both of Ackley; and two sisters, Tillie DeVries and Theda Janssen, both of Ackley.

Preceding the deceased in death were his parents, and his wife Freda, who died on May 14, 1990.
