Lowell Dickkut Services Held

Lowell "Bud" Dickkut, 60, of Whitten, passed away on Monday, September 24, at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center in Marshalltown.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, September 26, at 1:30 p.m. at the Benson Cemetery, Whitten, with Mr. Donald Hauser conducting the service.

Casket bearers were Larry Reel, Ray Weaver, Virgil Klaas, Marvin Cohen, Dale Simmons, Richard Beeghly, John Ewoldt, Chuck Wilmarth, Dean Sharp and Lyle Critser.

Lowell R. "Bud" Dickkut, the son of John H. and Mabel F. Kinsey Dickkut, was born November 16, 1929, in Marshalltown. He attended school in Marshalltown, graduating in 1946.

On June 14, 1948, Bud was united in marriage to Marjorie Schrafel in Des Moines. Following their marriage, they resided in rural Conrad until moving to Whitten three years ago.

Bud retired in 1987 from the Cargill Seed Corn Plant, rural Conrad plant, as plant manager, where he had worked for 42 years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, Marshalltown.

Bud is survived by his wife, Marjorie, Whitten; one son, Robert J. Dickkut, Lake City; two grandchildren; and two brothers, John V. Dickkut, Marshalltown, and Herbert Dickkut, Sr., Marshalltown.

The Johnston Funeral Home in Conrad was in charge of the arrangements.
