Herman Meyer Services Held

Herman Meyer, 77, of the Dumont Care Center, passed away Saturday, July 28, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 31, at the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church, rural Holland, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Joel Brummel officiating.

Casket bearers were Don Krull, Alvin Meyer, Delbert Meyer, Roger Krull, Richard Ross and Brad Hockemeyer.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Herman Meyer, the son of Herman and Reka Lindaman Meyer, was born August 10, 1912, in Madeliz, MN. He moved to Grundy county with his parents in 1918, when he was six. He attended rural school.

In 1959, Herman moved to the Dumont Care Center to make his home.

He was a member of Pleasant Valley Reformed Church.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Eldrich Meyer, Webster City, and Onno Meyer of Cedar Falls; and two sisters Mrs. JoAnn Basness, Owatonna, MN, and Mrs. Tillie Schoorman of Cedar Falls.

Herman is survived by two sisters, Anna, Mrs. George Krull, of Grundy Center, and Mrs. Reka Gronewold of Wellsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of the professional arrangements.
