Delbert Mugge Services Held

Private family funeral services for Delbert H. Mugge, 72, were held Monday, July 2, 1990, at 10:30 a.m. at Johnston Funeral Home, Conrad, IA. Pastor Louis Cronbaugh of the Church of God, Gladbrook, officiated.

Casket bearers were Joe Landt, Larry Benson, Rex McElroy, Russell Rosenberger, Bruce Johannsen and Keith Johannsen.

June Johannsen and Marjorie Oaks served as flower bearers.

Interment was in the Conrad Cemetery, Conrad, IA.

Delbert Mugge was born on March 27, 1918, at Gaza, IA. He passed away Thursday, June 28, at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center, Marshalltown, where he had been taken by ambulance.

He was the son of Harry and Frances Schimmer Mugge. He was raised by his Grandma and Grandpa Schimmer from the age of nine months, following his mother's death, until he was nine years old. Delbert graduated from Calumet High School in 1935.

On February 7, 1942, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Landt in Lancaster, MO. They resided and farmed near Green Mountain until moving to rural Beaman in 1951, where he has remained active in farming until his death.

Delbert is survived by his wife, Marjorie, two sons, Stephen R. Mugge, Conrad, and Gary D. Mugge, Beaman; one sister, Gladys Faust, Calumet; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Viola, one brother and one step-brother.

Johnston Funeral Home, Conrad, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
