Laura Oltman Services Held

Laura Oltman, 46, of Dike, passed away on Thursday, July 5, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 9, at 10 a.m. at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.

Casket bearers were Gary Bird, John Oltman, Lloyd McIntyre, Larry Kibbee, Joe Engelkes and Steve Brustkern.

Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery in Dike.

Laura Lee Oltman, daughter of Ollie and Ruby Bird Ryder, was born April 9, 1944, in Sigourney. She grew up and was educated in the Sigourney area, graduating from Sigourney High School in 1962.

Laura was united in marriage to Roger Oltman on November 22, 1963, in Cedar Falls. They made their home in Dike. Laura was employed as a computer programmer for Harnack Company in Cedar Falls for 19 years.

Laura is survived by her husband Roger, of Dike; one son Duane, of Vista, CA; one daughter Lisa, of Waterloo; her parents of Sigourney; two brothers, Orlean Gene Ryder, Las Vegas, NE, and Lowell Ryder, Iowa City; and one sister, Rosalyn Smith, of Marengo.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Dike Funeral Chapel was in charge of the professional arrangements.
