Rites Held For Mildred Diehl

Mildred Diehl, 86, of Ames, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, at her home of an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 29, at the Adams Funeral Home, with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center.

Mildred S. Diehl, daughter of George and Millie Breasted DeSeelhorst, was born in Grundy Center on June 7, 1904.

In 1938, Mildred moved to Ames. She retired from Food Service at Mary Greeley Medical Center in 1974.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister Vera Morrison.

She is survived by a daughter, LaVaun Whitnah, of White Bear Lake, MN; two sons, Douglas Diehl, Ames, and Donovan Diehl, Torrance, CA; a brother, Floyd DeSeelhorst, Grundy Center, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
