Rites Held For Olga Kitzman

Olga Kitzman, 98, of rural Beaman, passed away Tuesday, May 29, at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center, where she had been a patient for the past month.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 2, at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Beaman, with Rev. Harold Schirm officiating.

Serving as casket bearers were her grandsons Clifford Kitzman, Wallace Kitzman, William Kitzman, Daryl Hertema, Steven Kitzman, Ronald Kitzman, Douglas Clemens, David Clemens, Dennis Clemens, Rex Davis and Mark Davis.

Interment was in Oakland Cemetery, Beaman.

Olga M. Kitzman, the daughter of John and Anna Reimers Rohwer, was born March 8, 1892, in Tama county. She received her education in Tama and Grundy county country schools.

On December 4, 1913, Olga was united in marriage to Henry C. Kitzman, in Marshalltown.

Olga was a member of the Weatherman-Walter American Legion Auxiliary Unit #131, the Oakland Cemetery Society, and attended the Beaman United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965; one daughter; two sisters; and three brothers.

Olga is survived by two sons, H. Charles Kitzman, of Beaman, and John Kitzman, of Apache Junction, AZ; four daughters, Lorraine, Mrs. Ennis Hertema, Conrad, Venita Kitzman, Beaman, Mary Jean, Mrs. Stanley Clemens, Eldora, and Marjorie, Mrs. Nial Dickenson, of Ottumwa; 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Esther Rohwer, of Conrad.

The Johnston Funeral Home in Conrad was in charge of the arrangements.
