Rites Held For Ruth Cooper, 75
Ruth Cooper, 75, of the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center, passed away on Thursday, April 5.
Graveside committal services were held on Friday, April 6, at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Grundy Center. Pastor Gary W. Candlish of the First Baptist Church officiated.
Ruth Edna Cooper, daughter of John and Florence Penner Brown, was born June 9, 1914, in Wayne county, IL. She grew up and was educated in Hudson.
On May 21, 1944, Ruth was united in marriage to Ira L. Cooper near Hudson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; one brother Ralph Brown; and two sisters, Minyoun Mitchell and Marjorie Gould.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Elaine Cooper of Grundy Center, and Carol Cooper of Waterloo; one step-daughter, Doris Young of San Antonio, TX; one brother, Thomas Brown of Waterloo; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established.
The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of professional arrangements.
