John Harberts Died Suddenly Tuesday
John Harberts, age 77, died suddenly from a heart attack Tuesday afternoon at his home in Grundy Center. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at Bethany Presbyterian Church at 1:30. The obituary will appear in next week's Register.

Funeral Service John Harberts
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center for John Harberts, who died at his home in Grundy Center during the afternoon of Tuesday, March 22. Death was due to a sudden heart attack.
Rev. A. J. Straatmeyer, pastor of Bethany church, conducted the services, assisted by the Rev. John Hoekstra, pastor of the Reformed church at Stout. Mrs. Raymond Appel was organist and Mrs. Roger Stachour sang two numbers.
Casketbearers included Charles Harberts, Edwin Harberts, Clifford Green, J. C. Stachour, Harry Ascher and Russell Harberts.
Mr. Harberts was born Sept. 11, 1888, in Colfax township, Grundy county, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Dirk Harberts. He was married to Hannah Casjens, Dec. 30, 1912, at George, Iowa. The couple farmed in Beaver township, Grundy county, until 1950 when they moved to Parkersburg where they lived until moving to Grundy Center several years ago.
For eight years he worked for the Grundy County Conservation committee.
Survivors include his widow; three sons, Dick of Janesville, Harvey of Parkersburg and Orville of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and four brothers; Ralph of Montevideo, Minn., William of Berkeley, Calif., Fred and George, both of Grundy Center.
