John E. Kliege Dies At Advanced Age

John E. Kliege of Beaman died Thursday morning at the Grundy hospital. Death was due to advanced age and complications. He was 93 years old. The body was taken to Engelkes funeral home where arrangements were made. Services Saturday afternoon at the American Lutheran church in Grundy Center. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery. He was in the hospital 12 days before his death.

Surviving are the wife and three sons, Ernest, Dike, Elmer, at home, Johnnie, Parkersburg; four granddaughters and 3 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Kliege was born on a farm in northeast Grundy county Dec. 31, 1872. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kliege. The family moved to a farm north of Parkersburg. He was married in 1913 to Phena Rottink. The couple farmed north of Parkersburg until 1957 when they moved to Grundy Center. They resided here for a year and then moved to a farm a short distance south of Beaman.
