Mrs. Ray Behrends Dies At Hospital

Mrs. Raymond Behrends died December 30 at the Grundy hospital. Death was due to cancer. She was 43 years, 3 months and 25 days old.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Lincoln Center Christian Reformed church. The service was conducted by Rev. Martin Stegink. Burial was in the Lincoln Center cemetery.

The body was taken from the hospital to the Engelkes funeral home where arrangements were made.

Mrs. Behrends was born on a farm in Lincoln township. She was a daughter of Dave and Kate Marks. She lived on the farm with her parents until 14 years ago, when they moved to Holland.

Nov. 4, 1961, Caroline Marks was married to Raymond Behrends at Lincoln Center. The couple resided in Holland, except for a few months in early 1965 when they lived in Grundy Center. She became ill with cancer last February.

Surviving are her husband and her mother, Mrs. Kate Marks of Holland.
