Charles Thompson Dies Sunday
Charles H. Thompson died Sunday noon at the home of his daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Coulson. Death was due to advanced age and complications. He was 89 years old.
The body was taken to the Engelkes funeral home where funeral arrangements were made. Services were at 2 o'clock on Wednesday at the Engelkes funeral home. The service was conducted by Rev. A. J. Straatmeyer, pastor of Bethany Presbyterian church, Grundy Center. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.
Mr. Thompson was born in north Tama county and he grew up there. December 23, 1903, he and Alma Linder were married. They resided on a Tama county farm until 32 years ago when they came to Grundy Center and lived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Coulson and Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Coulson. Mrs. Thompson died in September, 1964.
Surviving are the two daughters, Mrs. Paul Coulson and Mrs. Wilfred Coulson. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one grandson, 5 sisters and 5 brothers. He was the last of a family of eleven children to be called to his last reward.
