Rites Here Monday Evanston Banker
A graveside service was held at 10 o'clock Monday for Eugene Voss, 67, Evanston, Illinois, banker. The service was conducted by Rev. D. Heap, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center. A previous service was held Saturday at the First Methodist church in Evanston.
Mr. Voss was the husband of the former Winson Crary of Grundy Center. He was born at Denison, Iowa, and was graduated from the State University of Iowa in 1920. Later he entered Harvard University, where he received a business degree.
Mr. Voss was with the State Bank & Trust Company in Evanston from 1945 to 1962, when he retired. He was a former president of the bank. Before that he held numerous positions, including vice president of the old Dearborn State bank, the Chicago Bank of Commerce, and the Continental Bank and Trust company of New York. He was treasurer of the First Methodist church in Evanston, treasurer and trustee of the National College of Education, and an associate of Northwestern university.
Surviving are his wife and his mother. Here for the funeral were the wife and her sister, Evelyn Bacon and husband from Virginia. While here Winson and Evelyn were at the home of their aunt, Mrs. Neil Morrison.
The body was sent by train from Chicago to Waterloo, where the Ferree Funeral Home took charge of the body and brought it to the funeral home in Grundy Center.
