Henry Raske Dies At Grundy Hospital

Henry J. Raske died at the Grundy hospital Wednesday forenoon, August 4. He had been a hospital patient since July 12th. Death followed a long illness from lung cancer. He was 52 years old.

The body was taken to the Ferree Funeral Home, where arrangements were made. Services were held at the funeral home at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery. Rev. Harold Sparks, pastor of the Grundy Center Methodist church, conducted the service.

Henry Raske was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Raske. He was born in Grundy county and resided here all of his life. During much of his active life he was employed as a mechanic for the Heine Implement Co., Grundy Center.

On September 5, 1944, Henry Raske and Margaret Schmoranc were married in the Little Brown Church at Nashua. For five years they resided on a Grundy county farm, after which they moved to Grundy Center.

Surviving are the wife, four sisters and two brothers. The sisters are: Lena, Mrs. Dick Grimmius; Vera, Mrs. Herman Lupkes, Grundy Center; Mrs. Lyle Bird, Sumner; and Grace, Mrs. Wm. Huisman, of Jesup. Two brothers, John Raske, Grundy Center, and Richard Raske, Dike. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
