Harm Buskohl Dies Sat. Afternoon
Harm Buskohl died at his home in Grundy Center last Saturday afternoon. He had been in failing health the past five years and was bedfast since last July. He was 84 years old.
The body was taken to the Engelkes funeral home, where arrangements were made. Services were Tuesday afternoon in Bethany Presbyterian church, Grundy Center, with Rev. A. J. Straatmeyer officiating. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.
Mr. Buskohl was born at Forreston, Ill., March 1, 1881. At the age of three he came with his parents to Grundy county. They located on a farm in Colfax township where the family of 11 children grew up. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Behrend Buskohl.
On March 5, 1912, Harm Buskohl and Emma Flater were married. The wife died in 1921. On September 23, 1931, Harm Buskohl and Effie Hoodjer were married. The couple resided on a farm in Shiloh township until 1946, when they purchased a home in Grundy Center and retired.
Surviving are the wife, a daughter, Mrs. Edwin Dreesman, of Dike; a grandson, and one great-granddaughter. Other surviving members of his family are three brothers: Menno Buskohl, Holland; Henry, Dike; and Heye, of Grundy Center.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife; one daughter, four brothers and three sisters.
