Mrs. Hilda Hook Dies In Nursing Home

Mrs. Hilda Hook, daughter of Klaas and Nelette Brass, was born near Ackley, Iowa, in Butler co., August 28, 1883.

She was a teacher in the rural schools in surrounding counties. She also taught a Sunday school class for many years.

On Feb. 15, 1915, she was united in marriage to Harm R. Hook. They farmed in the Aplington community until they retired and moved into Aplington in 1940.

After a brief hospitalization and a short stay in the Aplington Maple Manor nursing home, Mrs. Hook passed away Monday evening, May 10, 1965, at the age of 81 years, 8 months, 12 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother. She is survived by her husband, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Reformed church in Aplington. Interment was in the Pleasant Valley cemetery at Aplington.
