William D. Davids Dies In C.F. Hosp.

William H. Davids, a longtime resident of Dike, died in Sartori hospital in Cedar Falls last Friday morning. He was a hospital patient for four days before his death. He was one of the oldest persons residing in Dike.

The body was brought to the Dike funeral chapel with funeral arrangements in charge of the Engelkes Funeral Home. Services were at the Methodist church in Dike Monday afternoon. Rev. Lloyd Bair conducted the service. Burial was in the Elmwood cemetery at Dike.

Mr. Davids was born March 31, 1878 in Peoria, Ill. On April 26, 1916 he married Cora King in Dike where they continued to live. He was a carpenter during all of his active life, retiring a number of years ago.

Surviving are his wife, one son Lloyd W. Davids of Dike and the daughter, Mrs. Merle McInroy, Cedar Falls. There are three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Adam Deadrick, Edward Boysen, Henry Henriksen, E. P. Tobias, C. L. Moles and M. J. Kole. Vocal music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Graves with Mrs. John Paige playing the organ.
