Jens Nielsen Died In Sartori Hospital

Jens C. Nielsen, a former resident of Dike died Tuesday morning at Sartori hospital in Cedar F.

Death was due to a heart condition. He was 62 years old. He had been a patient in the hospital about a week. The body was taken to the French funeral home at Reinbeck where arrangements were made.

Funeral services will be at the Fredsville church Friday afternoon. A more complete account of Mr. Nielsen's death will be published in the next issue of The Grundy Register.

Funeral Services For Jens Nielsen

Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon, May 14, at the Fredsville Lutheran Church, for Jens C. Nielsen, 63.

Mr. Nielsen passed away Monday night, May 10, at the Sartori Memorial hospital in Cedar Falls, of a heart condition.

Burial was in the Church cemetery.

Jens Nielsen was born in Varde, Denmark on August 5, 1902, the son of Peter and Christina Nielsen. He came to the United States at the age of 23. He was married to Nita Guhl on Aug. 1, 1942. Before moving to the Dike area in 1949 he had farmed in the Hudson-Reinbeck area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister and two brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn, at home; and Mrs. Wayne Paige, Dike; a son, Russell Guhl, Cedar Falls; two sisters, Dora Sorensen, Cedar Falls and Christine Sloth, Dike; four brothers, Axel, Copenhagen, Denmark; Hans and Charles, both of Racine, Wis., and Marinus, Dike.
