Mrs. C. Bockes Died Monday

Mrs. Clarence Bockes died in the Grundy hospital Monday morning, March 22. She had been in the hospital a few weeks. Death was due to a heart condition. She was 60 years old.

The body was taken to the Ferree funeral home, where arrangements were made. Services will be at the Baptist church in Grundy Center, Thursday afternoon, March 25, at 1:30. The service will be conducted by Rev. Milton Dowden, Baptist minister at Reinbeck. Andrew Hagen will be the assistant. Burial will be in the cemetery at the Alice church.

The pallbearers will be Stanley Bockes, Marvin Ralston, Leland Staker, Leonard Ralston, Donald Clinite and Richard Bockes.

Was Born at Wellsburg
Mrs. Bockes' maiden name was Ella Riekena, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wiard Riekena from Wellsburg. She grew up in the Wellsburg community. Clarence Bockes and Miss Ella Riekena were married at Conrad, March 26, 1925. They resided on a farm in the Alice community since their marriage.

Surviving are the husband, one son, Leon Bockes, Grundy Center; two daughters, Elaine, Mrs. Joseph Marshall Jr., Fair Oaks, California, and Shirley V. Bockes of Delavan, Wis. There are five grandchildren. Other surviving relatives are one brother, Ben Riekena, Worthington, Minn., one sister, Mrs. Fred Staker, Gladbrook; two half-sisters, Mrs. Dan Klunder, Grundy Center, and Mrs. Alfred Smith, Anaheim, Cal.
