Funeral Services Tues. For Louie H. Oleson

Funeral services for Louie H. Oleson 71, rural Cedar Falls were held Tuesday afternoon at the Fredsville Lutheran church. Mr. Oleson passed away early Saturday morning at the Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls where he had been a patient for some time.

He was born on a farm southwest of Cedar Falls on Nov. 10, 1893, the son of Peter and Meta Oleson. He attended Cedar Falls area schools and State College of Iowa, then the State Normal College.

He was married to Hertha Guldager on May 7, 1925, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. He had farmed the same farm since returning from military service in 1919. He retired in 1958.

He was a member of the Fredsville Lutheran Church, American Legion, Farm Bureau and was a charter member of the Farmers Co-op, Cedar Falls.

Survivors include his widow; two sons, Maynard, rural Cedar Falls, and Norman, Park Ridge, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Donald Sturm and Mrs. Richard Cook, Cedar Falls; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.

The Rev. Joseph Sibert pastor of the Fredsville Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was in the Church cemetery. A memorial fund for the benefit of the Fredsville Lutheran Church has been established.
