Obituary Of Mrs. F. W. Bowers

Mary Ann Baker, was born in Felix township, Grundy county, Ia., June 15, 1882, and was married to Mr. F. W. Bowers, March 17th, 1898. To this union was born two children, a son and daughter. Mrs. Bowers has lived all of her life with the exception of one year in Grundy county. Here the splendid traits of her character won her a host of loving friends and her entire community. She exemplified in her simple unassuming way a most helpful and considerate neighborliness, always anxious to do what she could. She was a true wife and helpmate, a fond and devoted mother. She lived for those she loved and their happiness was her greatest joy. In the home she found her supreme delight and here her loss will ever be felt as the sad days come and go. Her grief stricken husband and little ones have the sincere sympathy of all.

Besides her husband and children she is survived by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bake, of Whitten, two sisters, Mrs. Jesse Ingham, of Oklahoma, and Mrs. Wm. Parish, of Whitten; one brother, Mr. Joseph Baker, of Felix township.

An unusually sad circumstance was the fact that her funeral was held on her fourteenth wedding anniversary. Her remains were tenderly laid to rest in Conrad cemetery.
