Mrs. Mary Harkins Dies Sunday After Short Illness

Mrs. Mary Harkins died at the home of Mrs. G. W. Morrison Sunday following a short illness. She was 79 years old. She had been failing quite noticeably during the past year, but she was confined to her bed but eight days before her death. Mrs. Harkins was one of the early residents of Grundy county.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Grundy Center cemetery.

Obituary
Mary Catherine Stuck was born in Fayette county, Penna., June 30, 1854. When a small child she moved with her parents to Indiana. From Indiana they came to Grundy county, Iowa. Here she grew to womanhood and in 1880 was married to E. M. Harkins.

In 1891 they moved to Sherburn, Minn., and after her husband's death in 1908 she returned to Grundy Center, where she has remained until the time of her death, which occurred May 12.

She leaves to mourn her passing two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Elizabeth Clift, Mrs. Cassie McBirney and L. E. Stuck of Grundy Center, and Will Stuck of Dows, Iowa. One brother, Adolphus Stuck, preceded her in death nine years ago.
