Melrose Township Teacher Is Victim Of Scarlet Fever

Miss Lois Vinton, who for the past three years has been teaching in Melrose township, died Monday night from scarlet fever. She was taken sick but a week before. She was 21 years old and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Vinton of Eldora township, Hardin county. Miss Vinton's death came as a shock to all who knew her.

Private funeral services were held at the home this afternoon.

Aside from being a successful teacher, Miss Vinton was an active leader in Girls' 4-H club work. The team of which she was leader represented Iowa 4-H club girls in Chicago at the International show last year.

The funeral of Miss Lois Vinton was conducted by Rev. Gnagy on the lawn of the home. There was quite a large attendance. Interment was in the Sheller cemetery.
